I found this picture interesting because it shows a fact that almost every college student will face to. In the picture a castle-like college stands on the top of a steep mountain, and a newly graduated student is walking down the cliff. The student graduated from college with a large bag of debts and a piece of disploma. We can see he is confused and nervous to jump down the cliff. Colleges seem to be isolated to real society, and graduating from college and getting a job seem to be a horrible thing like jumping down a cliff. Also, maybe this picture wants to show the gap between colleges and jobs in real life is large? The only thing a student can get from college is a large amount of debts and a small piece of diploma?

  1. This picture is very interesting and thought-evoking. It contains a heated social problem. In my opinion, college education is a kind of investment. Students should know that they go to college at a huge financial cost and opportunity cost, which is go to work directly instead of go to college. I think student should have a specific plan about what they want to achieve in college. Also students should not just focus on courses and text book. They should try to engage in more leadership program and try to apply what they learn into those real-life issues.

  2. Despite the depiction represented here, I find college to be more of a trade off then a guarantee. Colleges are designed to prepare us to get better jobs and be able to pay off debt fast. But it is not an easy process. It may feel as if we are being pushed off a cliff, but if we as students take responsibility and prepare ourselves for graduation, we will not have such a hard time taking the initial leap into the real world.
